Fannie Mae Don't Take My Home Away, Part 2

by Gary C.

Published September 13, 2012

Welcome to part 2 of our report, Fannie Mae Don't Take My Home Away. In this report, you'll hear from people from around the South East who are dealing with home foreclosure, eviction and homelessness. The organizers of Occupy Our Homes Atlanta present a list of demands that they feel will help homeowners and neighborhoods hit hard by the housing bubble collapse. Despite being surrounded by police, people spoke clearly and powerfully about their experiences with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other banks that refuse to negotiate re-structuring of their mortgages and help them keep their homes. After some well placed phone calls, building security finally took the letters and the demands that the demonstrators had requested be delivered to the Fannie Mae offices. Another small win for people fighting for their future. This film runs 51 minutes.
